LEGO pop cakes

As I baked three cakes in one week I had a lot of left over sponge material, lemon , vanilla and chocolate icing as well as Jam - I made lego pop cakes.

Mix all your leftovers until you achieve nice mold - able mixture. Chill in fridge then make little heads. Chill again. Prepare chocolate - white (colour it yellow like Lego).

Dip the lollipop  stick to chocolate then stick it to the mixture. Then slowly dip the head in the chocolate. I did not have a block or polystyrene available to stick it in so I put them in the paper baskets. Once out of chocolate you can dip them in the sprinkles depends on what hair cut you like them to have.
Chill in the fridge then draw the faces on.

Everything is awesome! - Wildstyle 7!

I must say - I was not very keen to go and watch The Lego movie , but it was AWESOME ! I enjoyed it very much and when my friend asked for Wildstyle I was more than Happy to do it.

Bake a cake . Fill it and chill it - fir recepies see my older posts  - I feel like I am writing it all the time these days.  Prepare the decoration for the cake - colour fondant or icing - whatever you prefer to work with. Make little legos and a Figure of Wildstyle. Let to dry, then cover the cake with fondant.

Place your little bits on top. I poked my Figure with cocktail sticks - I did not want her to move from the top. I think my one is fairly similar.

Finish the cake with bottom border and pipe work.

 Awesome  7 ! seemed appropriatte.

Penfold?

My friend requested this one - she said her 18 years old son is nick named Penfold  - that is kind of before my time .... She gave me a reference picture so that is what I did.

I prefer to bake, fill and chill my cake whilst I prepare my fondant. Colour the fondant with colours you will need and make your own topper. It is like playing with play dough really. Follow your picture - create layer after layer - start with white plate. Then make circles : yellow, orange, light red, red. At the same time make smaller ones too.

Then start on body, face, shoes , fingers, tie and shirt. Stick layers together with food glue - if you don't have one use brush and water but be careful to not use too much of water. Once done with that do your letters - message and place them on the top of your plank. Allow to dry.

Use thin brush to finish the details of your cake  - glasses and mouth. Then cover your cake with fondant. Pay attention to the bottom edge.

Transfer the plank from baking paper to the top of the cake.

Any icing sugar can be clean away with water damp brush. Other small circles you made earlier can be cut in half and placed on the cake - on its sides - to brighten up a cake a bit!

Cradle...

This was made in my "Marathon week" - I have full time job and was asked to make three cakes. It was actually easier to make that it seems.
I bakes three chocolate sheets and filled them with chocolate buttercream. Then cut - shaped into oval and dirty iced with vanilla icing. Then chilled. Roll out icing and make sheet for cradle.

Make half dome with white chocolate. Cover bowl with cling film then slowly cover with melted white chocolate - must harden and be kept in fridge. When icing on cake harden - connect cake and dome using more of the white chocolate, Then you can pipe on the basket design.

Cake looks very pretty if finished with chocolate buttons, frills, hearts and some lettering.I used last of my blue icing to pipe cotton on buttons - all this details matter.

Percy - the tank engine.

I made my own board  - as the cake was unusual size. Cardboard was cut and wrapped in wrapping paper or Thomas the tank. Then covered with cling film.

Build the cake - I baked chocolate sponge and bought vanilla roulade to complete the shape of the engine. Cover cake with vanilla frosting and chill. Colour icing in green, red. black, yellow and grey.

Slowly cover sides of the cake -  follow the picture as reference.

Pay attention to details - stripes, etc.

Make the face of Percy, slowly attach to the rest of the engine.

Add other little details to the cake - pipes , tanks and wheels.

All done.

Hello Kitty 8

Sponges to bake, fill and frost.

Bake heart shape sponge.

Cut out heart shape.

Frost and chill.

Cover with pink fondant. Draw wines and stick fondant leaves on.

Place dowels in the cake - front one to support the weight of the heart cake - two dowels on the back are covered with fondant and will keep the cake under the angle when placed on top. Draw the wines and stick more fondant laves on.

Make your Hello Kitty.

Put it all together.

Angry Bird

My new friend said her boy likes the angry birds but especially green one.

I baked sponge in salad glass round bowl and this is the shape I managed'

Colour the fondant and cover the cake. I filled my cake with strawberry jam and vanilla frosting.

Follow the picture of character and cut out several dark green spots.

Create the face with eyes and bushy eyebrows. Make the tail and feathers for the top of it's head.

I propped the tail with spoon so it hardens in that position.

I made the beak on the end.

It looked good!
