Penfold?

My friend requested this one - she said her 18 years old son is nick named Penfold  - that is kind of before my time .... She gave me a reference picture so that is what I did.

I prefer to bake, fill and chill my cake whilst I prepare my fondant. Colour the fondant with colours you will need and make your own topper. It is like playing with play dough really. Follow your picture - create layer after layer - start with white plate. Then make circles : yellow, orange, light red, red. At the same time make smaller ones too.

Then start on body, face, shoes , fingers, tie and shirt. Stick layers together with food glue - if you don't have one use brush and water but be careful to not use too much of water. Once done with that do your letters - message and place them on the top of your plank. Allow to dry.

Use thin brush to finish the details of your cake  - glasses and mouth. Then cover your cake with fondant. Pay attention to the bottom edge.

Transfer the plank from baking paper to the top of the cake.

Any icing sugar can be clean away with water damp brush. Other small circles you made earlier can be cut in half and placed on the cake - on its sides - to brighten up a cake a bit!
