Leftover treat

I happened to have some sponge leftover after baking my last cake . I did not want to waste it but I was not in the mood for cupcakes either. I chose to make something of it  - just to be a sport.

The mix was put into the oven as it was in the glass mixing bowl and this is how it baked.

It happened to be little concave but it did not matter to me.

I covered cooled cake with chocolate spread and fondant icing roller by 3D roller.

I did a little ribbon and bottom edge was tidied up with little roll.

Friendship group forever

Friendship is forever. That is why I did not hesitate to make this cake. Request simple - chocolate !!!

I decided to make one large cake and several small cupcakes. Two large sponges were baked and cooled. 12 small cupcakes were made too.

I prepared the fondant flowers first - using four different colors and white sweets -  as I wanted them to be solid by the time I did the frosting for the cupcakes. It made sense to do the frosting next  - to decorate cupcakes and to fill and cover big cake. Frosting was made of unsalted butter and icing sugar with lemon flavoring.

Once the cupcake were frosted I placed one fondant flower in each and then put some of my friends toppers . I used letter cutter to spell "FRIENDSHIP" and put these letters on the top too.

By that time the big cake chilled in the fridge and was ready for covering. I needed 700 g of fondant icing to cover it.

Next I put the letters on "I WILL MISS MY FRIENDSHIP GROUP"  and also created the bottom border.

Lastly I covered the top and sides of the cake with fondant flowers which dried and harden already. The result is this :

Trying new stuff

My friend started up new venture - she decided to be brave and started new business - to sell cupcakes toppers. So I tried some up.

Firstly I prepared my cream cheese frosting using cream cheese , butter and icing sugar. As I chose colorful start i decided to add some coco - but as this was very unplanned baking i used hot chocolate instead - it had worked well and also added a little bit of texture to the mix.

Chocolate icing needed chocolate cupcakes .

Frost the cakes once they cool down.

I had many toppers to chose from . I find it little expensive to but these in shops so I was pleased for my friend to start selling them.

I did well I think.
If you liked any of the toppers have a look at :

Dino cakes

My little dino cup cakes were made for my older friend. She is a funny old lady and we were joking about : You are what you eat !

Bake chocolate cup cakes these will compliment the dinosaurs well.

Melt chocolate and fill forms . Chill the chocolate and gently remove from its forms.

Once cakes are cooled prepare buttercream of icing sugar and butter. I used ivory color and almond flavor for my buttercream. Pipe the cream and apply the chocolate form.

Daises and posies cupcakes

I was asked to bake for a small summer party. I decided to make flower cakes . I prepared one base mix and then separated it into several flavored cakes.

It really is easier to separate different colors of cased by the flavor of your cake. I made chocolate, lemon and orange and strawberry cakes so I used appropriate colors.

1/3 of mix was chocolate, 1/3 was lemon and orange and 1/3 was strawberry. I used coco powder and lemon and strawberry flavors but I also mixed some orange zest into the mix.

Bake the cakes and allow them to cool.

Prepare frosting whist cakes cooling. Mix butter with icing sugar. Separate into half.  Add vanilla to first one for chocolate cakes, add strawberry flavor and pink coloring to the other.

Make daisies and posies out of fondant icing. Use colors to make yellow, red and lilac flowers. Stuck flowers on the top of each other and place little sweet in the middle. Let them dry and harden.

Pipe chilled frosting on the cakes and apply the daisies.
