Butterfly cake

I happened to have some left over cake from my baking so I wanted to use it up. My daughter is fussy and likes simple things so I tricked her a little.

So here is the sponge.

And here is a sponge with icing sugar butterflies made via form.

Now cut out the circles with the cookie cutter.

For Nan

This was cake for my friends Nan. This was to celebrate and remember all her life and family. Family being the bush - leaves the people in the family and stem the journey they took.

It was only small cake . Chocolate one.

With strawberry jam and lemon and cream cheese filling.

Cake was covered with cream cheese icing and then with lilac fondant.
I made letters with cutter from white fondant and painted them gold.

Piped up the stems with yellow icing via big nozzle.

I painted stems gold and glued on leaves in deep purple.

Once happy with leaves i also stuck on some gold sweets.

I made a ribbon and gold applique .

This cake was about family being the biggest present.

Princes'es Castle

Giving a friend a helping friend. She had a princes themed party so I did her a little castle.

I baked three sponges and fill them with pineapple and vanilla buttercream . The whole cake was covered and chilled.

Use letter cutter for happy birthday .

Cover the cake with pink fondant and place small pink dots on it. Take a swiss roll and cut in to four pieces . Cover cylinder with pink fondant and top will be covered with white icing. Finish the towers with lilac fondant and pipe yellow icing.
I put white bricks like rectangles on each tower and to finish i placed white fondant on the bottom edge of each tower.

Use some yellow piping icing and glue some gold sweets on the cake. I also used some glitter on the centre of the dots.

I placed Happy Birthday on the bottom edge of the cake with glitters as well.

Tardis

I tried something different this time.. Tardis !

I baked several chocolate sponge sheets and cut them to suit the size of the cake.

Stuck them together and fill them with fudge icing.

As i was going to stick individual sides on , I did rum icing and colored it blue so it matches with fondant.

Ice the cake and allow chilling. Prepare fondant .

Stick the sides on.

Finish the edges.

Cover the rest of the board with fondant.

I sponged on some blue and black color and piped up POLICE BOX and placed Happy Birthday on as well.

7

My Baby's 7th Birthday

I was asked for castle cake with doggies and butterflies.
So I prepared 3 sponges for bottom tier - two strawberry ones and one chocolate.

For the top tier I did two chocolate sponges with one strawberry sponge. I made simple vanilla butercream and filled sponges with jam, fruit and buttercream.

Cakes were dirt iced and chilled.

Both cakes were covered with pink fondant. I put a border of fondant over the bottom edges.

I covered Swiss roll with white fondant and placed pink brick like rectangles over them . Also border on the top.I used some buttercream to glue it to the cake. Then i cut out doggies and placed them around the bottom of the lower tier. Also made some butterflies. lastly I did front white wall and door.
The cake was finished by 7 candles.
