Staff meeting - Love heart of course !!!

I promised a cake  - as a joke - but hey, here it is ! Our first Staff meeting cake!


The request was for chocolate cake and as there is so many of us and our clients - I also made some mini cupcakes.


I chose almond and lemon for flavor of icing and colors yellow and beige.
I used large nozzle for piping and cup cakes were covered by white sweets and small colored sweet.

Large heart was covered by both icings and sweets. The finish was rough which I liked.
I put some fairy dust for mood.

Love cakes

Sweet Love cakes for  my Valentines !!!
I did small treats for my close ones. 


Prepare mix for cakes  - 200 g of self rising  flour, 200 g of caster sugar, 200 g of butter, 3 whole egg, 3 table spoons of water. Place some forest fruit in the paper and cover with mix - drain fruit otherwise the mix will not bake well. Bake at low temperature - gas mark 4 for 20 minutes.


Prepare icing - 75 g of butter , 175 g of icing sugar, 1 tea spoon of vanilla  essence and 2 table spoon of cottage cheese. Color icing in pink.


Melt chocolate . Fill piping bag and using small piping nozzle write on baking paper "Love " and do some heart shapes etc. Put in fridge until hard again. Use silicone molds for other hearts. Once chilled put them on the top of the icing. 


 I also put small while sweets on the top. All done !

Fireman Sam


My first attempt at vehicles and figures. It had to be Fireman Sam.


I had several lesson whilst doing this cake. Do allow enough time and prepare your fondant parts in advance. I did not - so I am not exactly happy about this one but It came together at the end.

I used bread tin to bake sponges in this time. I made three chocolate ones and one banana one. 
3x (200g of caster sugar, 200g of butter, 200g - one table spoon of self rising flour , one table spoon of coco powder, 3 table spoons of water and three eggs)
and
200g of caster sugar, 200g of butter, 200g  of self rising flour, 3 table spoons of water , half banana and three eggs

for buttercream : 200 g of butter with 450 g of icing sugar with 4 table spoons of milk , 2 tea spoons of strawberry essence and pink food coloring

Cake is filled with buttercream , forest fruit and jam and then covered with btter cream.
Prepare fondant - color it red and cover the cake.

Prepare small part of fondant - grey windows, red and white bumper, side mirrors in black, blue front lights,hydrant in red, pieces of ladder, grey panels for sides of the car and Fireman Sam.
I should have allow more drying time before sticking parts on the car  - it would have look better.



I used my husband's fishing lights to bring more life to it.



Take your time and put all your bits together. Cover the rest of the board with spilled water and green . 







Pipe work will finish the job. Pipe 999 on the back of the car, Neptune on the front and 
Happy 4th Birthday on the board. 




Green handbag

Another day ... Another handbag....
This one for young lady - first Double digits... Sweet !


Cake was constructed by four sponges - three chocolate ones and one strawberry sponge.
Chocolate ones : 3x (200g of caster sugar , 200g of butter, 200g -1 table spoon of self rising flour, 1 table spoon of coco powder , 3 table spoons of water and three eggs)
Strawberry one: 200g of caster sugar , 200g of butter, 200g  of self rising flour , 3 table spoons of water, 1 tea spoon of strawberry essence and three eggs. Mix is colored pink with food coloring.
Sponges are filled with vanilla buttercream - 150g of butter with 350g of icing sugar, 4 table spoon of milk ,one and half tea spoon of vanilla essence - mixed fruit jam and fruit of forest.  

Two sides of the cake were cut away to get to desired shape. Then cover the cake with buttercream. Allow chilling whilst preparing fondant.


Choose the color - I chose lime green and make up 1/2 kilo of fondant. Cover the cake in full and then add corner edges, front and back pocket and side flaps. Cut out circles for handles . Use left over white icing to make zip and handles - plat three strands together and attach them to the circles using water. Make small holes for sweets . Using tools make stitches like holes around pockets and flaps. White ribbon goes around the bottom edge.



Finish the look with some cut out flowers at the top and sides of the bag.
